‘Saving Spiti’ Documentary Film Launch

Made by Hugh Purcell – Former Managing Editor of BBC Documentary Photographer and editor – Zena Merton MA – One World award winner 2012
A documentary film is being made on the work Joan has done in the Spiti Valley over the last 22 years.

Spiti Projects will be hosting the launch of the film on 12th April 2016 at the Royal Geographical Society.

Photographic Exhibition ‘Spiti. A Himalayan Story’ by Joan Pollock

Joan Pollock has spent much of her life travelling the world, taking photographs.
In 1993 she visited the Spiti Valley in northern India and was so moved by the plight of its people that she founded the Spiti Projects Charity. Since then the charity has built a Hospital for the villagers, followed by a School, a Craft Centre,
a Medical Clinic and a Community Centre. Of course, all this has been captured in the most intimate and illuminating photographs.
