The Alpine Club, the world’s first mountaineering club, was founded in 1857. For over 150 years, members have been at the leading edge of worldwide mountaineering development and exploration.
With membership, experienced and aspiring alpinists benefit from a varied meets programme, regional lectures with notable guest speakers, reduced rates at many alpine huts, opportunity to apply for grants to support expeditions, significant discounts at many UK retailers, extensive networking contacts, access to the AC Library and maps - and more!
Becoming a MemberThis lecture is the 6th given by Colin in recent years, and will describe a further selection of Alpine climbs mainly in the AD to D grades, on mountains above and below 4000m, in all regions of the Alps. Colin has been climbing for over half a century, but due to work and family commitments has only taken short Alpine holidays, of 2 weeks duration or less. Hopefully the lecture will show that even in a short holiday a lot can be achieved with a combination of good luck and keen climbing partners.
