In 1992, Jonathan Bamber and a team of 5 other climbers visited the remote and politically volatile Kaban Valley in the Kishtwar region of the Indian Himalayas on an MEF supported expedition. They had two objectives, both unclimbed peaks in an area rarely visited by climbers. Their first objective was Tupendeo, a mountain that looks quite like the Dru and possessing a beautiful, reasonable looking line to its summit. At just under 6000 m, this was a perfect goal for a lightweight, Alpine style ascent. Twenty three years later, in 2015, a Swiss team including Mammut sponsored climber Stephan Siegrist and Thomas Senf arrived in the same valley to encounter a mystery on the mountain. One which they tried to uncover back in Switzerland. This film tells the story of the two very different experiences of Tupendeo and the eventual answer to their unexpected discovery.
